Frequently Asked Questions
Will insurance cover psychotherapy?
Many health insurance plans pay for most of the cost of psychotherapy. Your copayment varies depending on your specific health plan. If you would like to know what your copayment amount for therapy would be I would be happy to check that for you when you call for information.
What insurance plans do you take?
I provide psychotherapy services as an in-network provider for people who have the following insurance plans: HMSA; HMSA 65C+; HMSA Advantage; HMSA Quest; UHA; HMAA; Kaiser Added Choice; Aloha Care; United Behavioral Health-Quest Integration and Medicare. For these plans I submit the billing to the insurance company.
What if I don't have one of those insurance plans?
If you would like to work with me but you have a plan I am not affiliated with in many cases we can work something out. Generally you will pay me and then you will bill your insurance company and they will pay you. I will provide you with the information you need to bill your insurance company.
Do I need to get a referral from my primary care physician to see you?
If you have one of the insurance plans I participate with a referral is not needed. If you want to see me and I am not a provider for your insurance plan you should contact your insurance company to see if a referral is required.
